Amna Khawar is a freelance journalist based in New York City.
Her work has appeared in Quartz, The Huffington Post, Voices of NY, Dawn News, The Express Tribune (affiliated with the International New York Times), The Friday Times, and Asia Society.
Amna began her career in corporate philanthropy managing employee sustainability programs and worked in marketing at an ad-tech firm before making her way to journalism. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business and New York University’s Wagner School of Public Service.
A New York City native, Amna spent her teenage years in Lahore, Pakistan before returning to the United States. She is passionate about journalism as a tool for social change and human rights advocacy and enjoys South Asian arts & culture and travel.
